Feliz Dia INTERNACI…. aaaaggggghhh!
Before anyone sends me the annual email about the fact that it’s International Women’s Day, and explains how we should appreciate all the different aspects of the beautiful thing that is woman, and instructs me to further embarrass myself by forwarding the email it to all my girlfriends…

…. well, just don’t send it to me. …
If you are a woman in a dangerous place, live under an oppressive regime or belong to a religion that treats you as non-human, live in a violent household or live in grinding poverty, please have a happy international women’s day, although you probably won’t have the first clue that today is International Women’s Day, as you have more pressing things to face today than fannying around on the internet, anyway, you probably don’t own a computer, but if you are aware of today (it’s an awareness day apparently… could there be a more meaningless word?) try to have a happy one and I hope you can find strength within to continue and fight against whatever is fighting against you.
If you are a woman in a safe place, with a job, with chipped nailvarnish, with family, with a home, with transport, with basic welfare, with a Mercedes, with a handbag, with a mobile phone, with a computer, with open sexuality, with tools, with a voice, with your health, with love, with lycra, with pain au chocolat, with lipstick, with money, with a bit of money, with, if not equality, damn-well-nearly-there-equality, with broadband, without religious or state oppression, without violence, without the threat of death hanging over you, stop whining, stop celebrating, today is not for you, so take advantage of all the good things and power that you have and use your voice to try to improve your sex’s lot and prove to the world that lipstick, sex and Mercedes aren’t actually the most important things in the world to you, because most days it’s hard to tell.
If you are a man, stop being such a self-centred fuckwit.

Excellent! (If I may say so, as a man.)
